I am linking up with Titus Tuesday today!

I have been reading the book Becoming God’s True Woman and I love it.

So many good truths.  Not always easy ones, but ones I need to hear.

Here are a few nuggets I thought I’d share with you.  The gist of the book is encouraging women to be the type of woman that God created us to be, not the type that feminism and the world says we have “the right” to be.

“Without God’s word as an anchor, modern women drift to extremes . . .”

” . . . everything that we are and everything that we do must be rooted in God.”

“God intends that we enjoy motherhood and delight in our children.”

Then, they included this thought-provoking quote from John Adams (2nd Pres. of the U.S.) and  I thought it was so interesting given the way our country is headed.

”  From all that I have read of history and government and human life and manners, I have drawn this conclusion: that the manners of women were the most infallible barometer to ascertain the degree of morality and virtue of a nation.  The Jews, the Greeks, the Romans, the Swiss, the Dutch, all lost their public spirit and their republican forms of government when they lost the modesty and domestic virtues of their women.”

You see, we women have power.  Not the type of power that requires stilettos  careers, or marital independence.  We have power in a “gentle and quiet spirit”, we have power in being the type of woman that the Bible describes.

Don’t let your power be wasted.
