{Not Crushed}

I am praying for those affected by the shootings last week.

As I do so, I remember these promises from the Lord.

There is sin in this world and, thus, there is evil.

However, God is good.  All the time.  He will overcome.

2 Corinthians 4:8-10

English Standard Version (ESV)
We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

As Christmas draws nearer, I want you to know why we celebrate Christmas in our home.

Christ was born.

God sent his son to save us.  He sent his son to a lost and broken world.

Jesus came as a man, lived a perfect life, and sacrificed himself on the cross as payment for our sins.

That way, those of us who trust in the Lord through belief in him and through acknowledgement and repentance of our sins, can be saved.

If we admit to our sin, if we ask for forgiveness, if we throw ourselves at Jesus’ feet and let him be Lord of our life, we are promised a clean start.  We are made white as snow.  We are granted eternity.

We are not promised that life will be easy, but we have hope in christ.

Hallelujah, Christ has come.
